Emergency Preparedness for the Spirit

We often think about how to prepare for emergencies in terms of food, water, shelter but how do we prepare for spiritual emergencies in our life? What can we do now to plan for times when life gets hard? We will brainstorm together some actionable items that can be done to help us prepare for the challenges of life. We will work on things we can do for four different levels of spiritual/emotional emergencies. The hope is the better prepared we are the more resilient we can become.

Analogy for Disasters:

  • Level 1 (inconveniences) – lights go out for a few hours
  • Level 2 (minor challenges) – Snowed in for a few days
  • Level 3 (major challenges) – Earthquake with damage to home
  • Level 4 (serious disaster) – Destruction of home along with neighbors
