UUFM board meeting Jan 14^th

Present: Barb, Nakota, Genevieve, Brian, Ken

Dec. Minutes accepted

Brian presented a Request for Proposals for members to request funding for a special project.

Nakota suggested an Adult Education committee handle this. Barb suggested a new member on the RE committee (which handles only children at the present) could be added to do Adult RE. Nakota said the adult ed and child ed are so different that they should be two separate committees.

Ken suggested also some items may be more appropriately handled by an event committee (which does not currently exist). (Denise Patton?)

Social action or worship could also be approached to fund a special event.

Each of these committees could have a budget for such items.

Best idea is to get two or three people on a new adult RE committee.

Motion made by Brian not put member info on website with pass word. No second.

Motion made by Barb to put member info on website with password given to members only with opt out option. Second Genevieve. Unanimous yes.

Treasurer Report

Pledges are at 67.7% at 60% of year.

Senior Center rent is paid through June 2013

Quarterly taxes are paid.

Board forum agenda

We worked out the agenda for the Jan 20 business meeting we are calling a board forum.

Bylaw changes tabled. Direct election officers is off the table but Brian will write changes that charge the nomination committee to nominate people that are willing and qualified as officers.

Committee reports:

Finance committee- Barb reported on her process with the committees to create a budget for 2013-2014

We discussed starting to label part of the pledge drive as strategic reserve.

Membership- Ken The committee is effectively welcoming newcomers reorganizing and anticipates responding to the strategic plan for membership

RE- Genevieve Micheal doing very well. Childrens RE is better for his work.

Worship- Brian - none

March business meeting agenda: read by law changes and present budget

Pacific western regional Assembly scholarship, we want to do it. The how of it is tabled.
