Present: Bergen, Bloom, Dell, Gabrielsen, Halverson, McGinnis\\\Kris Gabrielsen opened the meeting at 6:30 P.M.

The Annual General Assembly of the Pacific NW was held over the past weekend and those attending gave a summary of what went on. Bev Halverson attended for the entire weekend and worked as a volunteer. She presented some statistics of membership numbers in the various churches in the district. Those with fifty or less members are most numerous. She took part in workshops on Fund Raising and Compensation Issues. Kris Gabrielsen reported on the enthusiastic welcome the McMinnville Fellowship received as an Emerging Congregation from all those attending the Friday Evening Service.
-
Bev Halverson reported that our cash on hand is $9,420.00. We have $357.95 for our contribution to YCAP. We are two thirds of the way through the budget year and have spent about two thirds of our budget. Bev will write a note to those members who are behind in their pledges and ask them to tell her if they will be able to fulfill their pledge for the year.
-
Kris Gabrielsen discussed the business we will take up at the March 1st Service:
-
Announce our status as an Emerging Congregation and explain what that means.
-
Bev will supply a budget report.
-
Discuss how often an all Fellowship business meeting should be held.
-
Need for greater participation of the membership on the various committees. The need for new blood to enable us to grow and spread out the leadership of the Fellowship is very necessary. Present officers need to know that there are members who can step into positions of leadership. Kris may also write a letter to the Fellowship explaining the importance of an expanding commitment on the part of the membership.
-
The upcoming
Pledge Drive
will be announced.
-
The budget for 2010 needs to be presented in May.
-
Our Annual Meeting will be on May 17th.
-
The Alien Day Parade is on May 16th.
-
A survey to help the Board understand how the Fellowship feels about our progress will be handed out for those present to fill in.
-
Beth Dell reported that the Reverend Keith Kron will give the sermon on April 5th to be followed by a workshop on “Steps Leading to becoming a Welcoming Congregation.” The workshop will be held at Beth Dell’s home. All members are invited to attend and asked to bring a sack lunch. Child care will be provided at Kris Gabrielsen’s house. Those needing child care are asked to RSVP to Beth two weeks before the meeting.
-
Committee reports were received from the Worship, Religious Education, Community Outreach and Pledge Drive Committees. A number of the committees have new members from the Fellowship. Bernie McGinnis will ask Ken Moore,
Pledge Drive
chair, to give us a timeline indicating when his interviews with Fellowship members will be accomplished.
-
Bernie McGinnis reported that Barbara Roush is talking with Salem ’s Director of Religious Education to find out exactly what we need to include in our Background Check form.
-
Pam Bergen presented a “Welcome Book” that we might use as a gift for new members.
-
Greeters will be asked to hand out the Order of Service to those arriving at the Service instead of placing them on the chairs. The next meeting will be held on March 25th at Bev Halverson’s house.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15.
Respectfully submitted,
Pamela Bergen
Board Secretary
