Changes and Transitions

“It’s not the same river, you know.”

Heraclitus of Ephesus was a Greek philosopher, known for his doctrine of change being central to the universe. “You can’t step into the same river twice.” he proclaimed, and we may not like it but acknowledge its truth. Thoughts about transitions and how we resist or adapt as the river flows on.  What currents are you swimming against, or wishing you could reverse the flow?

Rev.  Hanson is a native Oregonian who was trained as an educator (Pacific U and PSU) but after her chilcren were grown, studied in the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. With training in both music and religion, she has served UU small congregations in several different capacities all over the US. She is now retired but she loves to return to the pulpit. Earlier this summer she toured with a choir in hte British Isles.
